Visiting a graveyard might seem like a strange thing to do on a holiday, especially with so many grand sights to see. But oh, what a graveyard! And maybe in a way, it’s appropriate, because we’ll end up in one eventually. In the cheap seats no doubt. Covering 56 hectares, Barcelona’s Montjuic cemetery contains over 150,000 burial plots, with around 1 million remains in burials and cremation ashes. We had planned to attend one of the free guided tours offered on Sunday mornings but ended up at the back entrance rather than the main gate. Since the cemetery is so large we were not able to…

Barcelona – Part One
So it’s Sunday morning and what better way to spend it than in a cemetery. Yikes! We fly all the way to Barcelona just to hang out in a graveyard! But, it’s not just any graveyard, It’s the Cementerio de Montjuic. Wow. Fantastic, Awe inspiring. Macabre. More on this later though. We’ve spent the past couple of days walking. A lot. I kinda figured that once I’d had my retirement g’byes at work, I’d get up the next morning, loaf around, we’d hang out up in Sechelt for a couple of days and then slowly mosey out of here and then be gone. Life hates expectations. Apparently,…

Change
Change. It’s starting now. Well almost now…next week in fact (as I write this). Or maybe, it’s already started. How do you know when a lifestyle change actually starts? Is it a conscious process or do we wake up one day and realize things have shifted? Probably a bit of both. Let me try this again. Change. Most of it was planned. There’s a big change next week. After a long career in IT I’m retiring and it’s time for, well, a change. Teresa has been waiting patiently for this for a while. Time to do something different. The last big change was only last month. We became homeless. …
