<\/p>\n
As in the past week. As in my career. As in the place we called home for the past many decades.\u00a0 As in life as we have known it.\u00a0 We are gone and we are currently sitting on a plane over the Atlantic as I write this.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n This last week has been hectic to say the least and not what I had expected.\u00a0 I kinda figured that once I\u2019d had my retirement g\u2019byes at work, I\u2019d get up the next morning, loaf around, we\u2019d hang out up in Sechelt for a couple of days and then slowly mosey out of here and then be gone.\u00a0 Life hates expectations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Apparently, there were things (lots of things) that needed to be done as well as some \u2018extra\u2019 things that just sort of cropped up.\u00a0 Packing and repacking (and repacking) travel bags and storage sheds. Vehicle storage and insurance to take care of.\u00a0 What\u2019s happening to our mail and who\u2019s checking on what. \u00a0Finances.\u00a0 Need to make sure the bank account will have funds for the next while since the ol\u2019 paycheck ain\u2019t what she used to be.\u00a0 As in gone.\u00a0 Things to do, places to go, and not enough time to do the \u2018done\u2019 before the \u2018gone\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n And\u2026, while we have said goodbye to friends, work, Vancouver, and a normal sort of life, the government keeps on saying hello.\u00a0 Taxes that is.\u00a0 Put that on the list of things to do and not gone.\u00a0 Will probably have to interrupt all the drinking, eating, and general fun to do something about that.\u00a0 Sigh.\u00a0 I think the relevant files we need are in some box somewhere in storage.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n But most things got done and we are finally out of here. Looking forward to the doing.\u00a0 So, while we are over in Europe somewhere (we\u2019re pretty sure we told everyone that it\u2019s Spain), we\u2019re not really \u2018gone\u2019.\u00a0 The little wizards at the CRA I\u2019m pretty sure, know exactly where we are.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" As in the past week.
