What\u2019s a pirates favourite letter?\u00a0 More on that later.\u00a0 And the only reason I\u2019m even mentioning pirates is because I wanted to sneak in the parrot picture. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n One of the things my \u2018Park\u2019 friends like to do is hang out with the vintage car community.\u00a0 Cars seem to be a big deal here<\/span><\/span> and both of us can appreciate what\u2019s on display having owned a couple of vintage cars in the past.\u00a0 Over the years I\u2019ve owned a \u201947 ford sedan and a \u201948 ford coupe as well as a \u201965 Mustang and \u201971 T-Bird.\u00a0 Teresa owned a \u201869 Chevelle Malibu and a ’69 Lincoln Continental Mark III.\u00a0 The people that do this are very passionate about their cars and trucks.\u00a0 During the summer months there\u2019s a car event almost every night of the week which usually consists of a bunch of hot rods in a shopping mall parking lot next to an A&W.\u00a0 Mostly it\u2019s a chance to check out some new \u2018old\u2019 wheels and socialize.\u00a0 The weekends are reserved for the \u2018big\u2019 events like the Rock n\u2019 Red Deer August long weekend or the Hot August Nights (Rock n\u2019 August) in St. Albert or the Endless Summer show here in the Park.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Besides hanging out in parking lots, we also took in the 2nd<\/sup> annual Model T Races out in a farming community called Bruderheim.\u00a0 If that sounds small, think smaller.\u00a0 T races were big, I\u2019m told, in the 40\u2019s and 50\u2019s but kinda died out. They\u2019ve brought them back and it was…Ok, picture this. Sitting on the side of a grassy slope baking in the hot sun watching motorized barrels on 4 wheels scream past at 40 mph.\u00a0 Wheeeeee!
