Ronda sits above the gorge on a plateau overlooking the green valleys below and it has the prerequisite Moorish defensive walls, Christian relics, Roman baths and bridges, and an impressive newer bridge (and newer here means mid-1700\u2019s), the Puente Nuevo, which spans the chasm between the old and new city.\u00a0 There are even older relics lying about as Ronda was first settled by the Celts and there are prehistoric settlements around the city dating back to the Neolithic Age complete with rock paintings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/travelblog.lewington.ca\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Ronda-255small-1024x683.jpg\")
